1.1　This part specifies terms  and  definitions as well as performance requirements of significant surface,test methods and inspection rules of anodic oxide coatings on aluminium and its alloys.
1.2 It is applicable to the decorative and protective anodic oxide coatings on aluminium and its alloys.
1.3 It is not applicable to the specification of following coatings:
a)　Non-porous anodic oxide coatings of the barrier layer type;
b)　Anodic oxide coatings produced by chromic acid or phosphoric acid anodizing;
c)　Anodic oxide coatings as the base film for the subsequent formation of organic coatings or metallic coatings;
d)　Hard anodic oxide coatings used for engineering purposes.
