4.1 Every elevated play structure is required to have a protective surface installed and poured-in-place surfaces are one of the many choices. These surfaces are highly technical in structure, component selection, percentages of components and installation procedures. This guide is intended to assist the playground owner/operator, specification writer, designer, and so forth in determining the properties that can be considered with regard to the poured-in-place surface and set out considerations that the user of this guide should make to ensure a successful installation.
